At closing ceremonies, the top 6 places in each category are announced, with the top 3 coming to the stage to receive medals and trophies.

Iowa had two First Place teams, three Second Place teams and one Fifth Place team for a total of SIX teams in the top 6. Additionally, the Maharish Secondary Live! It's RaDIo DI! team earned a Renaissance Award! A limited number of awards are given, so this is truly a great honor!

The University Level competition, called DI EXtreme, consisted of two challenges: one on Thursday and one on Saturday. For this competition, teams get their challenge in the evening and then get a 'box' of supplies the next morning when they spend 3 hours in the 'tinker tank' preparing for their afternoon presentation. The two 1st place teams were from New York...only because the student who registered the teams was from Cornell University in New York. Both teams contained two members from Maharishi University and one of the teams also had two HS members from Maharishi...so Iowa has a claim on these two 1st place trophies as well :-)
