Iowa Scholarship

The Students for a Creative Iowa Memorial Scholarship is available to Iowa high school students graduating in 2016-17 who have been involved in Destination Imagination for at least two years. The scholarship is a one-year, non-renewable grant for $1000. It will be sent to the student’s post-secondary institution following verification of successful completion of the first semester at that institution. Students must write essay responses of 350 to 1000 words each to four essay questions. The deadline for scholarship applications to be received is Friday, March 10th 2017. You may download the application by clicking on: Cre8iowa Memorial Scholarship 2016-2017.

Aaron Eilerts

Dayle KitchThis scholarship is in honor of two Destination Imagination participants who exemplify these skills. Dayle Kitch was a team member for 8 years and later an adult volunteer. Aaron Eilerts was a team member for 3 years. Both Dayle and Aaron are also remembered for their service work through church, school, community, Scouts and more. They both exhibited the Spirit of DI as they each faced challenges and often used their creative problem solving skills. Both lives ended too soon. Dayle died on May 29, 2007 after a short illness, and Aaron died on June 11, 2008 when a tornado struck a Boy Scout camp. The Spirit of DI Award is granted at tournaments in recognition of those who act as superior role models in the areas of spirit, sportsmanship, and volunteerism. Dayle Kitch and Aaron Eilerts were role models for many of us. As a result, the Students for a Creative Board of Directors is offering this scholarship in their memory.

DISC Scholarships

The Destination Imagination Support Committee (DISC) will once again offer up to $10,000 in creativity and volunteerism scholarships to deserving candidates. DISC will also fund the DI Valedictorian and DI Scholar Awards, a tradition begun in 2012. The  list of past awardees can be found by clicking HERE.

All Destination Imagination team members  graduating from high school in 2013 may compete for the Global Finals™ 2013 ValeDIctorian of the Graduating Class. The named ValeDIctorian will receive a $1000 scholarship, and 4 named DI Scholars will receive $250 scholarships from DISC.  The requirements and application information will be posted HERE .

The DISC Creative and Founders Award Scholarships deadline is: March 1, 2017.

For the DISC Scholarship search, it is the applicant’s CREATIVITY and involvement that are deemed most important. We want to see you use your creativity and divergent thinking! The most weight in our scoring is applied to the creativity and usefulness of the solution to our challenges, and the past and continued involvement of the applicant.

There are two Creative Scholarship tracks this year: Marketing and Tool.  Applicants for these scholarships can also apply for the Founders Award, established in recognition and appreciation of VOMBO, the first booster organization for DI, and its founding members.

Valedictorian or DI Scholar

Destination Imagination offers special recognition to graduating high school or college students: an opportunity to be considered for ValeDIctorian of the Global Finals 2015 Graduating Class, or to be named a DI Scholar. This opportunity is open to all DI team members graduating form high school or college in 2013, whether their team qualifies to attend Global Finals or not. The Destination Imagination Global Finals High School and College Graduation Ceremony is a very special and moving event provided for all high school seniors and college students receiving degrees. The ceremony is a “traditional” graduation…with a DI flair, of course. (And yes, duct tape is involved!)

The named ValeDIctorian will receive a $1000 scholarship, and the named DI Scholars will receive $250 scholarships.

If you would like to be considered for ValeDIctorian of the Global Finals 2014 Graduating Class, please check back later. We will post the requirement as soon as available.
