2015 Sub-state Tournament Results

Congratulation Iowa creative problem-solvers! We saw some outstanding solutions and are looking forward to seeing your enhanced, modified and/or improved Challenge solutions at the State tournament on Saturday, March 28, 2015. Below are the results for the Sub-state tournament held on Saturday, February 28, 2015:

Congratulations to the Secondary Level, Lose to Win team: Reverse Destiny from Maharishi School. Reverse Destiny earned a Renaissance Award for outstanding  design and engineering. The Appraisers were big fans of the team created dress made up of six decks of playing cards that moved in a fan like way when the team member moved. The team worked hard and engineered each card to fit perfectly so that the dress could flow.

2014 State Tournament Results

Congratulations to all of our teams who performed their Challenge solutions at the State tournament on Saturday, March 29, 2014. Fourteen teams have qualified to advance to Destination Imagination Global Finals at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville on May 21-24, 2014. Special thanks to Avery Travis of Maharishi School for inspiring the 2013-14 pin and T-shirt design. Congratulations also to Natalie Bantz of West Des Moines, this year’s winner of the Students for a Creative Iowa Memorial Scholarship. Competition results are as follows:

The following teams were recognized for achieving the highest score for their level in specific Instant Challenges:

2014 Sub-state Tournament Results

Outstanding effort, Iowa creative problem-solvers! We look forward to seeing your enhanced, modified and/or improved Challenge solutions at the State tournament on Saturday, March 29, 2014. If you had to leave before Closing Ceremonies and were unable to collect awards given to first through 3rd place teams and the top Instant Challenge score in each Challenge and Level, you can pick them up when you check in at the State tournament. 2013 State Tournament Results

Way to go, DIers! We are proud of all of you for your outstanding efforts at the State Tournament. Congratulations to all of the first place teams in every Challenge and level that have qualified to advance to Global Finals at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville on May 22-25, 2013. We also applaud the Instant Challenge teams that achieved the highest score in their room. Finally, congratulations to Joe Bantz, Team Manager for West Des Moines team 112-46655, Jenius Gellybeans, for earning a Spirit of DI Award. 2013 Sub-state Tournament Results

Congratulations to all of our Sub-state Tournament teams who shared their creative solutions to Challenges with us on Saturday, March 9, 2013. With the exception of non-competitive teams, all teams will advance to the State tournament. 2012 State Tournament Results

Congratulations to all of our teams for their creative efforts, and thank you to all of the Team Managers, Coordinator, parents and all volunteers who have supported and/or helped these students. Sixteen first place teams from Iowa have qualified to advance to 2012 Destination Imagination® Global Finals, which will be held May 23-26, 2012 at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. You can follow all of the competitive and extracurricular activities at the Global Finals Web site.

Congratulations also to the following teams and individuals, as follows:

  • The TAG Team from Ottumwa, Team 112-16416, earned a Spirit of Discovery & Imagination Award in Team Challenge E, Hold It!
  • Hypothetically we gave a Giant Mushroom from Fairfield, Team 112-24943, earned the Renaissance Reward in Team Challenge B, The Solar Stage.
  • Ethan Marshall Lloyd of Mapleton, received the 2012 Students for a Creative Iowa Student Scholarship and the 2012 Kitch-Eilerts Memorial Scholarship.
  • Avery Travis and Leanna Miller from Fairfield inspired the design for the 2012 Legendary Creativity Iowa Affiliate pin and T-shirt that will be worn by all Iowa participants at Destination Imagination® Global Finals.
