Destination Imagination has been honored to receive one of the six NASA downlinks to the International Space Station, which will take place Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 10:35 a.m. to 10:55 a.m. (East Coast Time; watch one hour earlier here in Iowa). Here is a link to the IDODI Web site for details: http://idodi.org/index.php/who-we-are/news/373-lucky-philadephia-youth-will-interact-with-astronauts-as-international-space-station-passes-overhead-june-26
Philadelphia University has graciously offered to host the event and we will have 300 children in attendance. Congressman Chaka Fattah, and the President of Philadelphia University, Dr. Stephen Spinelli, will join Chuck Cadle, Chief Executive Officer of Destination Imagination, in welcoming the kids to this once in a lifetime event. News media from all local TV stations will be covering the event. In addition, the downlink will broadcast over the Internet through the DITV link from the IDODI Web page, and NASA will be broadcasting over its TV channel. The exact time of the downlink may change, but as of now live streaming of the event can be seen at ditv.idodi.org.
